Wreck Beach Video Clip and Chance to Comment

Please spread the Word Widely to Help Protect Wreck!

Thanks!

Hi, All, AS OF MAY 30 just to let you know the video shot of Wreck
Beach is now available online and that CBC is soliciting passionate
comments about the beach as well as feedback on the clip. Please
take the time to leave a comment (See link below). Once you get to
the clip, on the same page, on the right hand side right below the
National Logo, is a black bar. In the bar, click on “YOUR TURN,” and
it will take you to “WRITE to US!” Scroll down to “I have a
comment,” and give them feedback while telling them why you love
Wreck Beach!

Please understand the protection such acknowledgement can give our
beach, the higher up on that list of 52 we can go. We have been
fighting for almost 44 years to keep Wreck undeveloped and unpaved.
This kind of recognition will make it far harder for authorities to
build above and upon this special place on the planet. When you
write your tribute, please keep in mind the following criteria. The
final list of seven is not only about the popular vote, but also
about your passion for your wonder and about how it fits with the
original criteria of:

.. They are searching for places which fulfill the following criteria:

1. Essential 'Canadian-ness' - historically significant,
character filled, valued

2. Originality/uniqueness of the pitch and place

3. Spectacular physical site or amazing human creation

4. Ability to inspire

5. Range within the final seven - diversity of location, type of
wonder

Apparently this clip aired May 25, but earlier than anticipated so
it is now up on the web as per below. Audio very faint but you can
enlarge it full screen. Bruce tells us that you can also leave
comments, so everyone, please, please leave those comments that
reflect your passion for the beach and let it shine through after
you have viewed the clip. The deadline for comments re the clip and
Wreck, plus your chance to vote is STILL May 31 even though the
website was offline for almost six days. They were experiencing web
difficulties so if they were down. If you could just keep trying, we
would so appreciate it! Please spread the word to everyone on your e-
list and have them do the same.

Cheers and bravo to our beach!

Greetings,

If you didn't see the Wreck Beach piece on CBC's National Tuesday,
May 29, you can find it and a few of the wonderful comments at the
website

It's fantastic, and tasteful. Our goal, is to beat the other two
beaches and crack the Top 30. So, lets get out the vote, extended to
May 31st!

Cheers,

Bruce , James, and Judy
